Conditions of Authorization

Standard conditions governing this authorization to proceed.

1. This authorization does not constitute a change order and does not, by itself, modify the Contract Sum or Contract Time. A formal change order shall follow in accordance with the Contract Agreement.

2. Work performed under this authorization is limited to the scope described in §03 and shall not exceed the Not-to-Exceed Amount stated in §04 without further written authorization.

3. This authorization expires if work does not commence by the Authorized Start Date in §05, unless extended in writing by the Owner/Developer.

Authorization & Acceptance

Both parties' signatures formally authorize and acknowledge this work to proceed.

By signing below, the Owner/Developer authorizes the General Contractor/Construction Manager to proceed with the work described in §03, subject to the conditions in §06 and the Not-to-Exceed Amount in §04. This Authorization to Proceed is not valid until signed by both parties. No verbal authorizations will be recognized.
